Zénobe Théophile Gramme (1826-1901)
Belgian physicist born in Liége, in April 4th 1826, and died in Paris, in June 20th, 1901.
Gramme barely knew how to read and write when he went to Paris in 1856. Working in the production of electrical machines, was animated by the study of Physics. In 1869, adapted a ring to a dynamo obtaining a practical model of a continuous current generator, that was presented to the Academy of the Sciences, in 1871. The generator was started to be industrialized in 1878.
