Tellurium


Tellurium is slightly less toxic than selenium. The main tellurium intoxication symptoms are vertigo, nausea, headaches, sleepiness being also observed an unexpected dryness of the mouth and a strong breath, extremely unpleasant. This can be minimized by the ingestion of ascorbic acid (vitamin C). Tellurium is eliminated by the body through the lungs, the urine, the feces and the sweat. There is not any record of acute intoxications caused by this element. However, it should always be handled with care.
